Phenomena in Focus Pack
The Phenomena in Focus pack is next in our new supplemental Science resources for 2026! The newly adopted Science TEKS (2021) inform instruction and investigations that are anchored in phenomena. Phenomena are observable and detectable events. They are observed through the senses or technology and can be explained through scientific laws, ideas, principles, and theories. When observing a phenomenon, scientists look for patterns to help them understand and explain what is occurring.
This pack is divided into 4 individual bundles covering each strand of the 5th grade TEKS-Matter and Energy, Force, Motion and Energy, Earth and Space as well as Organisms and Environments. Teachers can implement these bit-sized, phenomena-based activities to fill gaps in student mastery via Do Nows (i.e., attention-gettersor bell ringers), mini lessons, extra practice exercises, center activities, or tutorial sessions.
